MultiSafe started in Cape Town with the design of security products at the end of 2004 and had the first products manufactured and successfully installed in the beginning of 2005. The reason for offering a totally new look at security solutions originated after the founder of MultiSafe, Martin Nauta, having lived and travelled overseas for many years was unpleasantly surprised upon his return to South Africa in 2003 to see barred and walled homes that looked (and functioned) like prisons. Besides being very dangerous in the case of a fire or other possible disasters, the beautifully designed paradises were now so fortified, making them ugly. There is no doubt that these security measures are needed, but there are other solutions and materials today on the markets that allow for a much friendlier way of securing your premises, without making it look like an ugly fortress.

Internationally as well as in South Africa Martin Nauta has designed many specialised machines and he has come up with alternative solutions. As a mechanical engineer he has pioneered many options in different fields and always looked for improvements and different solutions to those
usually used and commonly available. “It is amazing how products and solutions get used over and over again, and possibly improved once they are accepted as the only solution. Looking at alternative solutions ‘out of the box’ and creating ‘new’ products is a whole different ball game and is very challenging”.

Currently MultiSafe offers security products that look aesthetically pleasing, and do the job 24/7. “We call them ‘elegant solutions’. We supply a burglar proof or strong room door that looks like a normal door, but is made out of steel and has a slam lock and a total of 13 dead locks, all operated from the main lock with one key. For the windows we offer a completely clear security film that will stop objects and people penetrating through the glass. The film is hardly noticeable and blocks 96 to 99% of the harmful UV light, so the interior does not fade. Security films can also have solar properties and tints. For the opening windows we have completely clear burglar bars, which are mounted on the inside of the windows,
preventing anyone entering
through the open windows”. Other security related products MultiSafe offers are multiple car parking solutions to double or triple parking in existing space in garages/parking lots or completely automated robotic parking systems, where keys and valuables can be left in the car safely. For example we offer a system to park over 40 cars on +50m2 ground space. Shortly MultiSafe is to open a web based internet store where personal non-lethal (no license required) security items can be purchased. These are carefully tested and chosen products range from flash lights and pepper sprays to powerful electric stun guns and air powered rifles that shoot rubber balls at targets over 100 meters distance at speeds of 150 m/sec.

Our main clients today are security companies, contractors/builders and project developers, but also the private households where we offer to create ‘safe havens’ or secure rooms. Creating a safe haven (panic room) in a house such as the bedroom(s)
enables the family to
lock themselves in should a break-in occur. A call to the police or security company is enough and there is no need for any confrontation with the intruders or attackers.

We have designed and will continue to find ‘elegant security solutions’ and are currently looking for distributors/partners in all areas of Southern Africa , to expand business opportunities
for interested parties.
MultiSafe can supply products and comprehensive technical training to install and maintain the products as well as provide support in marketing & sales.

People who share our vision to make South Africa safer, but by means of elegant solutions rather than prison-like grilles and bars are more that welcome to contact us. We will create job opportunities in existing and new companies, and there are ample opportunities for BEE companies to get involved. Together we can make South Africa safer in a more attractive and aesthetically pleasing way. With 2010 and undoubtedly more major events coming up, we do not want to scare our valued and important visitors away with our fortified security buildings and electrified homes and premises. Our government aims to contribute towards our general security, but it is up to every individual to help stop crime. MultiSafe offers elegant and affordable solutions to help stop crime.
