Multisafe Doors and Clear Burglar Bars

Burglarproof security doors

MultiSafe security doors turn any home or business into an impenetrable fortress, without making it look like one, because of the friendly appearance. Robust but light to open and close, the doors come in a range of standard, stylish designs. They have 13 locking points, operated by one main lock, a slam lock and a ridged steel door and doorframe, making them totally burglarproof. The doors are also sound and temperature insulated and due to a unique magnetic seal, air tight and dust proof. They act as a powerful fire retardant.

The doors consist of a 2mm thick reinforced steel doorframe and two 1mm reinforced steel door panels with 13 locking points. Reinforced locking mechanisms and a honeycomb structure inside the door provide the stiffness and the superb insulation. The locks can be disengaged without a key and in case of an emergency can be opened very quickly. Even a child can open and lock the door.

The doors are manufactured with a 2.000 ton (2 million kilo) automated hydraulic press and hot dip galvanized to prevent rust. They are supplied in a standard off white colour, but can be painted to any specification.

Surprisingly affordable, the internal and external doors are ideal for protecting any home, shop, clinic, workshop or factory against unwanted intruders and are easy to install with 6 rawl bolts in an existing wall.

The standard door frame sizes are 860 wide by 2050 high and 110mm thick.

MultiSafe is currently appointing distributors all over Africa, enquiries are welcome. See business opportunities

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS MULTISAFE DOORS

Before commencing the installation please note that the door can be damaged by dropping, bumping or laying it on sharp objects.

MAKE SURE THE DOOR FRAME IS NOT FLEXED OR INSTALLED AT AN ANGLE, AS THE LOCKING PINS WILL NOT PROPERLY ENGAGE IN THE LOCKING SLOTS PROPERLY

In a double stone building an outside door is normally fixed in a wooden frame, between the two layers of brick. In this case you can move the door more towards the inside of the house, to get the rawl bolts bolted in the inside layer of brick or toward the outside. Moving the door to the inside looks more attractive from the outside and you can fill the gaps by glueing on ready-made wooden profiles. You can also cut the wooden frame diagonally in half and leave the outside half in its place. Now you break out the inside half and mount the door from the inside against the outside half of the door frame. The position of the door is now virtually unchanged. Because the steel door frame is 11cm thick, you normally cover the area where the old frame was and where the wall maybe slightly damaged.

If you want the door in the middle of the bricks you will have to fill the gap, between the two layers of bricks first with wood or stone to enable you to drill holes to mount the steel doorframe on to it.

An inner door normally is fitted in a steel frame. The ste el frame needs to be removed completel y, before the new frame and door can be fitted.

The overall size of the MultiSafe doorframe is 860 mm wide by 2050 mm high and 110 mm thick. The weight is 65 kg.

  1. Prepare enough clean space to lay the door flat on its front side.
  2. Now carefully take the carton and bubble plastic off on one side and leave it on the floor to lay the door on, to avoid damaging it.
  3. Leave the blue or white protection foil on to avoid damaging the paintwork until the door is completely mounted and other building work has finished.
  4. The keys are the side of the door frame. Cut the tie rap and remove the keys. The rawl bolts and plastic covers are on the top of the door frame. Remove these as well.
  5. Now lay the door on the ‘outside’ side. This is where the doorbel l button is visible. Remove a small part of the stick-on plastic, where the door handles are going to be fitted, on the in- and on the outside.
  6. Next is the installation of the door handles (see drawing)
    • Take the handle from the box and take the plastic bags off. Put the black plastic supports around the handle plates.
    • Start with the inside handle where the override button is at the bottom.
    • Take the square unlocking pins and the springs and ‘turn’ (like you screw them on) the springs on to the round part of the square pins with the smallest opening of the spring. This will secure the spring on to the pin.
    • Now drop the longest pin into the main locks square hole.
    • Now you need to get the hand override lock flat pin into its position; look at the position of the override lock in the main lock and lower the strip into position, together with the spring and square pin in the main lock handle. (The spring goes inside the door handle preventing the pin coming out of the main lock when the door is closed).
    • Now lift the door on its side while holding the inside handle set against the door (the spring will push).
    • Place the short unlocking pin with the spring in the outside lock and fix the two side plates with the long screws.
    • Do not over-tighten the screws to avoid bending the metal or damaging threads.
  7. Move the door handle upwards to engage and disengage all locking points to make sure all locks work properly; the door is now ready for installation. When handling the door rather use the side plates on the doorframe to lift (not the door handles, as you can damage them).
  8. Mark the six points clearly where you will drill the 6 holes to fix the doors into the wall or other structure, use a water level to make sure the door is installed properly.
  9. First use a small drill to make a pilot hole and after that use a 12 mm stone drill for the rawl bolts.
  10. When fixing the door, do not over-tighten the rawl bolts; use wedges or wood to fill the gap between the wall and the mounting plates, make sure the door stays in the same position. Check if the locks are still working properly after you have put each rawl bolt in.
  11. Finish off the gaps with wooden slats and paint. Only now take off the stick-on plastic wrapping.
  12. Lubricate all locking points and hinges with silicone spray. The door should open and close very easily and not touch the frame anywhere. You can adjust the hinges, but they should be fine as they are adjusted at the factory.
  13. Put 2 penlight batteries in the doorbell, by opening the door wide and removing the battery holder. After the batteries are placed, the bell will ring 3 times and is ready for use.
  14. A small red light will be visible at night from the doorbell.
